IS300h - Pain in Spain

It's unusual to see Lexus being mentioned on Honest John, so I thought I would share a link to a query this week which may be of interest to anyone with a IS300h.

The page is here, and if you scroll about a third of the way down you'll see "Pain in Spain". I guess 'DC, North Ferriby' isn't on here?

Seems like a dramatic owner. Good response from honest john. Definitely l sounds like the 12v Battery to me.

Any person with a single brain cell could work out it was the 12V Battery from the symptoms that the car experienced.

Swapping to a new Battery would be the easiest test. Might just be that the charging circuitry which feeds that Battery from the high voltage traction Battery has failed but that's unlikely.

Yeah, but there's a lack of attention from others if you engage brain first, or God forbid go to the dealership first, so better to post on the Internet !

It seems strange that they were worried whether or not the warranty would cover any work.

I know that it was a different type of hybrid, but the 12v Battery failed on my Honda Civic hybrid, when it would have been  about 7 years old.

Everything lit up, but it wouldn't start. It needed that Battery to operate the onboard computer.
