RIP Burt Reynolds. Probably responsible for my love of cars even if he probably wasn’t driving most of the ones I thought he was. Had a black Lamborghini Countach poster on my bedroom wall for most of my younger life as a result of this very scene that doesn’t even feature him!

RIP anyway J.J. Mclure, You probably inadvertently influenced many on this forum.

Agreed, a sad loss. One of my favourite not so serious actors. But rather than his various driving movies one of my favourites is the underrated Hustle. Worth seeking out even if it's just for Catherine Deneuve.
