I just bought a 55 plate Lexus GS300. I love the car but was checking the rear discs and they are only a few mm thick. In fact I could almost bend them. I decided to order new discs but the auto parts data, and on-line websites, all say 310mm vented are the correct disc. Can I fit vented discs and new pads even though it is a solid disc on the back.

Edited to add.....Hi all. I'm new here and hope to contribute as much as I can

I bought genuine front discs and pads for my 2005 GS300 from Lexus Birmingham which were £190 from memory with free delivery. At least you are more or less guaranteed to get the correct ones for your vehicle buying direct from a Lexus main dealer.

Certainly look like they should be vented. I'd give the dealer a quick call to confirm (even if not buying from them).

It seems after a bit of checking the vented are two mm thicker. 18mm for Vented and 16mm for solid. I found this out on a parts site. Everywhere else only seems to sell 310mm x 18mm vented. The front are vented and are fine.

Just found another site that has the solids at 12mm. Oh dear
