On start up this morning  , the 2007 GS300, sounded  coggy and rough idle for about 5 sec , revs stayed solid , strange just hope it is not a pre warning for a major issue.

Reminded me of  My old e200?

Had it not started up for a long time? Perhaps coil packs failing? Could get it plugged into some diagnostics if you can and see if there are any stored codes...

The IS250 can suffer from an (occasional) rattle upon start up. It is due to lack of oil in the upper valve area from drain down from not being used for a long while. It is a known 'fault' and subsides after a couple of seconds but does sound very un-Lexus like. There was a recall in the US that required an upper head rebuild! But by all accounts the problem re-occurred again in some cases.
