Can anyone explain this?

The Celsior I've just bought doesn't have parking sensors, although it does have a reversing camera and that strange illuminated mast that comes out of the front bumper.  However, I found this in the boot well.   Can anyone shed light on it?

Could this possibly be a very early version of the "Car Parks itself " job , my 2008 LS600h has this facility but it's not very easy to use .. love your puchase by the way , congratulations , very unusual and stands out from the crowd !

Thank you.  I've really got no idea what it does or did.

Two Japanese guys pop out to push the cars in front and behind you out of the way when you need a little more space to park

I knew someone would know, that's the great value of this forum.  Do I have to feed them for the duration of my ownership?
