Warrington Dave’s White Beauty 😳

So a little dickie bird told that a Lexus dealer bought Dave’s car after failing to sell it themselves for £28k so here it is with a nice price increase.

No pictures yet so here is one of mine, a great car and was cherished.

@Womble72 Paul sorry duff gen it’s not the exhaust that’s in the boot it’s the standard intake as the car has a K & N.

@Big Rat......to late now Paul, I’ve ordered and paid a deposit for mine on the strength of your last post. 😳.......fitting takes place on 5-6/9/18.......I’ve read a lot about the air intake and all seam to point in the “makes no difference” direction, can’t seam to find any confirmation of any difference tbh....as for numbers 🤔......did u ever get to colour count??

They do make a difference but depends on the engine. My motorbike benefits hugely for a performance filter, would not go back to standard as throttle response is so much better. The power increases are true but not enough to feel. You'd have to be neck and neck on a drag race to see the difference.

Rcf filter and tube gives a claimed 14hp boost.

There is one on eBay for 80 quid right now!

Hmmmm. Lexus selling a non standard modified F car!

They do it all the time!

Cheltenham then Coventry had a blue one with an aftermarket exhaust on it which took a while to shift, previous owner was on here.

Stockport back in the day when they had a few IS-Fs used to sell them with their aftermarket bits on and would fit aftermarket pieces on for customers as well.

I know they do it all the time - and I don't like them doing it.

Very easy for a buyer to buy a modified car unknowingly.  If there are any future warranty claims, it would be up to the owner to prove they didn't carry out the mods.

I know both the cars you have mentioned very well. Both exhausts systems change the characteristics of the cars greatly. Unless the dealer made it clear the cars were modified (in writing), I think it is simply wrong for a dealer to pedal them to unsuspecting punters. How much is a stock IS-F exhaust........?

I bought the blue one mentioned above from Coventry. Used to belong to Markg. I'd been lurking on here beforehand to get some idea of what to look out for concerning the ISF. Saw it advertised and did an MOT history check which showed the brakes needed attention. Armed with this information I viewed the car, looking at the pads and discs carefully. I didn't want my purchase to be influenced by the sound of the V8, so didn't start it, let alone drive it!  When looking at the service history, the brakes had been done, so had no worries. I didn't drive it because I know a quick trial up the road would not be long enough to fully understand it, and would be a waste of time when being offered with the Lexus warranty, and also my purchase of the 2 years extension.

Deal done, I went home and looked about getting the exhaust done, but because I hadn't signed up here, had no idea of the history! 4 days later was pick up time. Driving home along the M45 on my own, I thought, bleedin' hec., this sounds nice!! Arriving home, the wife asked what I'd bought!

Next day, looked underneath, and hey presto exhaust all done. Thanks Mark! ( and I still love it ) So yes I bought it unknowingly, but in my case a good result, and there's enough history on here as proof that I purchased a modified car

Absolutely..👍 .. they should disclose any modifications before sale. Potentially, it could also invalidate an insurance claim....

I didn’t pay 32k for it in 2015 with 7k mileage on it . Fantastic car in amazing condition tho
My favourite isf I've seen. Would not be sad to swap rcf for it. But not at 32k - that's more than WBAC value a 15 RCF ghia.

I reckon it's either someone who believes that it is a future classic or someone who places great importance in 0-60 times.  Or both 😉

Glad you are enjoying the car.

When Lexus Cheltenham took the car off me  they asked if I had the standard exhaust and would I let them have it in case the customer wants it returned back to standard, I agreed on the understanding I would get it back if it was not required, seems like I need to give them a call...……..

GS-Fs can be heavy on brakes - maybe the same for IS-Fs......:whistling:
