OBD2 is an industry standard so any OBD2 reader will do - plenty on eBay or amazon.

Alternatively, if you have a laptop you could go for a miniVCI cable

I got a miniVCI from eBay. Useless, l would not recommend.

Huh? Mini VCI with Techstream on a windows laptop IS the affordable solution to read all you need from Lexus and Toyota cars.

There are many people on here who have bought a cable from eBay and used it successfully so I'd bet you've just done something wrong. Why, exactly, do you think it's useless?

It will not work.  Program will not open properly and or keeps asking for a registration number then freezes the laptop.

If you are talking about Techstream then either speak to Toyota/Lexus who will support you if you are using official software and their recommended cable, or if you have a pirate copy of the software then it isn't for discussion on these forums.

Have you tried something like Carista which is simpler to install and use?
