Hi could anyone please help in regards to a knocking coming from the lower part of the steering column area when driving at slow speeds or shacking the steering wheel.

Well documented problem for some this is. Lexus will tell you the lower joint is worn (which doesn’t come separate from the column) and the price is crazy.
The solution is to replace the bolt on the lower joint (from inside). Owners have stated it’s cured the problem 100%.
I don’t actually have this problem on mine (2011). There is a thread in the CT forum about this.
