Ah well that was interesting; I've just had a delve into the ML company history only to realise (as Voodoo already mentioned) that it's all owned by Samsung now. Small World.

@JonP Spurred on by people's comments I had a good dig into the audio settings this morning and I think I found the issue. I had previously played about with the bass/mid/treble settings, however it seems that these settings are per source -? I had done this while listening to the radio, but didn't check them again when playing audio cds. I checked this again this morning and the mid value was very low. Moving it back up and hey presto, there was the definition I was looking for. I do agree however it is a little lacking in bass, the Prodigy's Fat of the Land confirmed that. Still, I'm happier with it now and I could always add an amp and sub in future.

@ISF V8 JAY Totally! I keep catching myself looking at it across the carpark. Just stunning. I originally thought the Red was my favorite colour, but USB in the flesh is truly awesome 😎

Nice one Nick, nice it's gone to an enthusiast. The isf ML system was quite poor compared to the RX I used to have and I'd find myself fiddling with the Bass settings and fader all the time. It's still not bad with 14 speakers but the RX has a subwoofer in the boot giving some punch.

It's very much a first , second , third , Jail car lol

Btw every man and their dog has an S3 in Aberdeen so welcome to owning a rare sight on our roads.

As mentioned multiple times in other threads, the ML system is one that is for audiophiles. In other words, music is reproduced and heard as it was intended by the artist. Therefore, compared to over amplified and artificial bass setups in most modern cars now, it will seem to lack punch to the average owner.

Worth remembering that the source on ML is very important. The best sound quality by far comes from DVD-A. Next, I would say USB or CD. Dont even bother with the radio or Bluetooth
