Good morning, I just wanted to introduce myself. Last week I picked up my first ever Lexus, a 2007 LS460 SE-L.

I've only driven it a couple hundred miles, but so far it's one of the most solid, comfortable and well equipped cars I've ever owned. I can hardly believe it's over 10 years old and I don't think anyone else can either!

It has incredibly low mileage (less than 30k) and I've yet to decide whether that is a good thing or bad thing. It definitely sat around a lot so as soon as I find a decent Lexus specialist in London I'm going to take it in and make sure there's nothing that could be damaged due to that. Also want to make sure the few recalls that Lexus had on the LS of that era were taken care of on this car. If they weren't, hopefully I can still get them done! I purchased the Carista module so also looking forward to hooking that up and seeing if there are any fault codes and doing a bit of customisation to the features.

The good news is that it really is in like-new condition. Not a stone chip, a scratch or a mark on the leather or wheels.

Looking forward to participating in this forum and getting to know you all. Cheers!

Welcome to the forum and Lexus ownership Josh.

It sounds like you've sourced yourself a car in good condition - any chance you could get some pic's online for us?

Fingers crossed the low mileage doesn't turn anything up, hopefully a fresh set of fluids should see it in tip top condition.

Good luck and keep us posted.

I shall take some pics and post up when I get it out of the underground car park this weekend, it's too dark in there to take good ones! :)

Congratulations on your purchase and we are all looking forward to seeing the pics.

And without wanting to be rude it'll interesting to know how much you paid.  I only ask as I'm keeping my future options open!

Welcome Josh, I had one of them. You'll be smiling from ear to ear every time you drive it.

Thanks for the kind remarks, everyone. I managed to hook up the Carista module and got a few error codes relating to tyre pressure monitoring and solar sensor, but I don't think they are anything to worry about. The tyres are not losing any air so it's just a few sensors I need to replace.

It's not rude at all, I am pretty sure I overpaid, but I really love the car and I'm a firm believer that If you are planning on keeping a car longer-term then paying a little more to get the car you want is worth it. I know the re-sale won't be so good on these, which means I won't be selling it anytime soon!

Let's just say I paid over £13k but under £15k for it 😓

Also, very sorry I didn't take more pics, this is just one I snapped as I was looking back at it when I parked! I will definitely take more.

Ok, with this price 😲 maybe it is not the bargain of the century 😉 but she looks great and solid, and with this mileage and lack of any serious issues it is bloody good car. And price is irrelevant, If you are happy with her.

Lovely looking car. How do you get a registration like that? If its S6 it comes up as a Bentley on DVLA mot site or if it's 56 it just doesn't recognise that number reg.

I'm guessing it's a 56 plate with the rest blocked?

I hadn't thought of that.

Well he did say that it was a 2007 car and if you look closely you can see that the rest of the plate is blocked out, plus the two numbers aren't central on the plate, so as they say on that 'Through the keyhole', "the clues were there" although why people bother doing that I'll never know.

Yes I blocked off the number plate! I always do when I post any pictures! Sorry for causing confusion.

I do the same.

Personally, it's more a 'better safe than sorry' approach. If I post pictures of my car I always leave the year marker visible but the rest of the reg hidden. I know it's on full display when you're driving around, but for me, it's more about what people on the internet can do illegally with the full registration number and being able to find my name and address. It's probably overly cautious but that's just me.

I do  not think that one is being overcautious Josh. I see it as a sensible move which reduces the chances of one`s Registration Plate being cloned.

Probably. I was always curious (in scientific purposes of course), what exactly bad people from THE INTEHNET could do illegally with plate of elder car, like mine? But never got clear answer. Or maybe: do you think there are more criminals and psychos per picture at lexus forum than in your neighbourhood or city per your street? DO YA? :gunsmilie:

With about only 100 LS460 reg 56 on the road, and let say 20% of them dark blue, what is a chance anybody in whole UK wants to clone any LS460 plate like above, or even like my GS430 reg.52 (much much more popular  like 300 left, and probably half of them silver)? Reducing from 1:50000000 to 1:100000000 is not worth to use my mouse and to confuse good people from internet 😉

So, I think that you are a risk taker Ben and you think that it is worth the risk. Let`s agree to disagree ever so slightly. :):):)
