RX450h Mark 3 retro fit side steps

I've looked on line but can't find OEM side steps (the sill height is getting a bit difficult for my wife hence the need for steps) and they're not in the copy of the original sales brochure that I have so I assume they weren't produced for this car.  Has anybody fitted aftermarket steps and if so three questions:

If OEM aren't available can anybody recommend an after market brand?

I've seen some after market steps on US sites. Has anybody purchased from a US site and if so what's your experience? 

Are they a DIY fit or is it best to leave it to my friendly independent?

I dont think there were any OEM ones for the 3RX but there are plenty aftermarket ones available in the UK like these:

Plenty of different ones to choose from fitting the 3RX from the seller so worth having a browse. If you look in the description of the ad, you can see the pics of it fitted.

Apparently quite easy to fit though as well. Just fits onto existing mounting points and dont need to drill anything so DIY would be possible

You also need to cut the under plates at the rear to accommodate the fitting

Thanks both; very useful.  Are the plates metal?  If so I assume they would need to be cut by a professional with the correct tools.

My local guy charged me £50 as you also need to get the car on the lift to do correctly
