Mind you, I have heard of a TVD equipped F up against a flintestone diff equipped RCF. Apparently, ‘Fred’ didn’t even know which way the TVD equipped car went.
Of course, it could have been down to driver skill. Who knows [emoji12]
Yes skill is important. Not wanting to die in a fireball is also a hindrance to progress :D

Especially if you have carbon, nasty fire. Suggest carrying specialist breathing equipment which may add 15kg to the gross weight. :D

But look how good the RCF-CE will look right up until it fireballs!

Talking about fire, had the cavemen discovered fire when the idea of the Flintstone diff was conceived?

It matches the Flintstone V8 and sat nav.

Carbon fibre is a 50s material.

With the amount of crap I carry in my boot I should feel a difference when it is all removed, I don't, the car is just as fast and handles exactly the same, to me anyway.

To play devil's advocate, most of the other cars listed have a lot more low down torque that make cars feel lighter on their feet. Also cars like the m4 are tuned to have a very responsive front end which also makes it feel lighter.

I re-read evo's group test of the RCF against the m4, c63 and Alfa just last night. It had good things to say about the RCF but said the c63 and Alfa were just more special to drive at maximum attack.

I think the RCF is the best long term choice for many reasons but magazine tests only focus on outright driving performance which mostly comes down to power and we can't compete without turbos 😒

Aye a common theme in many reviews is how calm the rcf is under hard driving. The yanks did a review against the m4 (randy something ex race driver) and even while driving he thought the rcf would be a lot slower because the m4 felt faster the result was half a second ish on track...

Love devils advocating...and of course you’re right - the reason the car feels a little less responsive vs the majority of the competition is the comparably low torque...but that’s not what the tests say. The majority of tests focus on the weight as if the RCF is some kind of RR Phantom wannabe.

Its also worth pointing out that in regard to some other cars the same journalists will talk about that as a virtue - ‘...to get the best from this car you really have to wring it’s neck, getting the most from the high revving V8 is one of the more rewarding driving experiences in the motoring world.’ (Writing about the m3 e90).

Thank goodness it had TVD rather than standard LFD (Lexus Flintstone Diff) or there would have been another 3 seconds on the clock :whistling:
