I filled in today 6 liters but I cannot read the dipstick. So how many liters should I go with?

I drove with the 6 liters thinking maybe it shows clearly after a drive but it just smears the oil and is not clear on dipstick.

It holds just over 6 (not sure of exact figure) but you will be ok driving it with 6 litres. You should be able to get a reading of the level though

Yes just over 6 liters and yes a knight mare to read properly. The newer toyota group cars are the same, long smear up the stick. I will go with 6 litres next time.

Not sure if it applies as a general rule but the distance from the bottom of the dip to the top used to be half a litre?

I filled in about 6.7 liters and I think I can see oil half way now.

Then you may not be on level ground and are overfilling it. The engine only takes 6.3 litres.

I wasn't comfortable with 6.3L after injecting 100ml at a time I reached 6.7L. Took ages.

I will check oil level again on tesco parking as that is supposed to be flat like a pancake.

Are you going to keep adding oil until you are comfortably happy?

Until the damn oil shows on the damn dipstick. Piece of crap dipstick it is.

Would you swear by 6.3L? Or swear by proof? I had to make a call and I made it.

I’d go by the manual and what everyone on here has advised you. 6.3 litres.

But if your not happy with that keep topping it up.

Then you can start a thread entitled “All my oil seals are leaking” or “The mechanic says my engine is suffering from windage” or “I wish when I ask questions on the Lexus Forum they’d stop telling me lies” or “Why do I post questions? I don’t listen to the answers” or “Why has my oil foamed up (see windage)”.

Have a great day.    ;)
