I've just got some bilt hamber double speed wax. I've also just polished my car with Autoglym super resin polish. Is it ok to use the wax after the polish?

Thanks. I vaguely remember reading somewhere that the wax won't adhere to the polish.

It will do but maybe won't last as long as using Bilt Hamber polish before it. If you do two coats of double speed wax you will get a few months out of it. Best to top up one coat once a month or so.

It's a very good wax at a great price and you should like the results

I always think of polish as an abrasive product used to correct/prepare a surface before the application of a protectant, a wax or glaze.

I've always rated Collinite 915, lasts a very long time and very easy to apply

I originally started using Autoglym srp as I thought it was an abrasive but subsequently discovered that it is a silicone based filler rather than an abrasive polish. This detailing malarkey is more complicated than I thought. Sometimes I feel it would be great to go back to my early motoring days when having a car which had all panels the same colour was something I strived for!

Spending hours waxing my Dad's car with Simoniz , hardly able to lift my arms afterwards Talk about "wax on, wax off" :w00t:

It's as complicated as you want to make it. Or it's as complicated as some people on the internet want to make it. The older and more cynical I get I tend to go with the latter.

I use BH double speed and it tends to last up to 6 months no problems.

Autoglym SRP is a product with polymer based fillers. BH DSW will have no issues adhering to it but is best used on bare paint. As you can imagine the SRP will reduce its durability somewhat to 4 months give or take.

There is no real benefit to layering waxes.  Slap on 1 coat and it'll see you through 4 months let's say. Slap on another and you'll probably get 6. Classic case of diminishing returns...
