First the cd error comes up never to be resolved even trying another unit.

radio and cd player give up the ghost for about a year and a half then suddenly recently came on again.

Steering in and out worked but not up and down. Suddenly up and down works.

drivers door lock won't work on the door button.

why the hell isn't there a postcode option on the navigation?

nearly 18 years old with 138000 on the clock, never ever failed an m.o.t and despite all the weirdness I still love this car.

Just a left-field thought, but have you replaced the Battery lately?

I had some weird stuff going on with a Mercedes, and when my man plugged in his laptop he looked baffled then said, when did you last replace the Battery? Never, said I, and sure enough a new Battery fixed everything, even though the old one had always had enough juice to start the engine.

Hi Jon. Yes I had a new Battery last year and it's been disconnected  a couple of times to no avail. Also have had the engine light on for about 10 months or more with no change to performance  or anything. Haven't  had it checked as I suppose I just put it down to another quirk. If anything goes major wrong I'll  probably  buy another ls430. Lol

I think one of the most common reasons for the engine management light is a bad lambda sensor(s).
