Has anyone experienced an oil filler cap that won't come off? Mine is just turning with the occasional 'click.' I fear the threads may be damaged .

TIA

Hello and welcome to the LOC.

Have you tried pushing it down as you turn it?

They aren't usually threaded but only need a quarter turn. May have to press down as you turn it as well.

In more than 40 years of driving I've never come across an oil cap that is threaded, so I hold my hand up - you learn something new on here every day

The LS400s also have threaded oil and petrol caps, swopped my plastic oil cap for a solid alloy one years ago when custom parts were more available and cheaper!
