Occasionally when approaching my parked GS450h  ,neither the door button or the blipper will respond.

If i attempt to open the door withe key the alarm is actuated .

When returning a couple of hours later , all is fine and working normally.

This occurs only when parked in my allotted space in my home car park.

Could this be some kind of radio interference and if so .can my frequency perhaps be changed?

Has a "new " car suddenly appeared parking near to you Christopher or has there been a Mobile Phone or other Mast erected in the area ?

HI John

Thanks for your response .

No , all the same cars are parked near me but some of them have been affected, Difference is that they can simply open with key and drive off !   Not me though === I cannot use the car until it returns to normal and I cannot park in other  parking places.

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be my wifes key playing up. I took it to Timpsons to get the Battery changed a year previous and all was well but last summer it started playing up and she couldn't open/start the car. Had to borrow my key. I thought it might be the Battery failing so I took the fob to Timpsons to be changed but they tested it and said it was sending a strong signal. Couldn't work it out until I looked at the Battery and realised that what Timpsons had done was to fit two thinner batterys instead of the correct type! So I bought the correct type and fitted it, all working no problems again.

So my advice before doing anymore investigation, change the fob Battery.

not experienced this and  new to keyless entry  but i would try and change the fob Battery and see if it that makes a difference?

I'd initially try a new Battery, or your spare key. It could be interference but you would have to track down what is causing it as it isn't possible to change the frequency of the vehicle/key.

I have the same problem at one of my customers car park. Key does nothing when parked there. I just lock manually. I happened to mention it to the staff there and non of them can lock their cars by remote.

I too get this problem sometimes when i go to pick up the wife from hairdressers sometimes there is a late mercedes there and if it is when i get back to the car i cant open it with remote i obviously dont park near her after that but as she goes to same hairdressers as wife i asked her about it if she gets trouble she said" We have had a peimeter gizmo fitted so no one can capture signal from remote" so that must be it

I remember I got issue few times when key fob was in the same pocket as Iphone :)

I even started the car once and got key not found message. Took keys out and they got recognised straight away.

Change the Battery, might be the problem, especially in colder weather.

Its very simple to do and listed in the manual

I have had issues when my key was in the same pocket as my android phone. Car just wouldn't open. I always now keep key away from phones.
