LS430 Air suspension

Hi there,

I'm not so happy or even certain how it should work properly, but my intuition is telling me something is not right, or could at least be improved.

1. Sport/Normal mode

I feel absolutely no difference. Do you notice anything? I would expect the ride to be a bit stiffer and less body roll and better handling when cornering.

2. Height High/Normal

Visibly she sits an inch or two higher when the High mode is on, but in my opinion it takes quit a bit to pump it up - a minute or two?

What is a normal healthy pump-up/down time? I just happened to see a Range Rover adjusting its height and it does it in a couple of seconds...

Has anyone done an overhaul of the air susp. pump valves and elements related to this?

Any thoughts welcome.

Sport mode felt no different to me, just as it doesn't on my Volvo.  Height rises by about an inch and takes 30 seconds or so. Sounds like yours is normal to me.

Just one reply? no one else got an experience to share? Even, if you have to say - "yes, mine is the same" I would be grateful and sleeping better :)

how about the sport/normal mode? Also no difference?

I didn't answer because I wasn't sure. I have Sport mode on transmission, which I assume keeps the lower gears for longer, and Power mode  opposite to Snow -

Thanks. I thought the Sport/Normal switch is for suspension not the transmission, simply because if i press Sport, a green icon of a shock absorber lights up on the dash....

I find a distinct difference when sport setting is engaged when cornering at speed, particularly when set to high.

I also notice a difference in height circa 30-50mm (normal/high) but have never timed it adjusting, I switch it on/off when driving normally.
