65 plate but a 2016??

How can a car have a 65 plate but Date of Registration is 2016. And date of manufacture of the car is also 2016?

Means car was made in 2016 but has a 2015 plate? How...

06 plate begins 1st March 2016.  65 plate ends 29th February 2016.

Another car I am looking at ... plate is 16 with date of reg may 2016... but production is sep 2015... how on earth..

After production it remained unregistered for eight months or so.

well check this out then, my mkIII mondeo build date and reg date!!! I did not think that Genk was that far away!!

Looks like it spent a whole year somewhere in between and then fooled DVLA into being new in 2002....
