High mileage CT200

If you look through the CT section of the forum, there are very few complaints or issues at all.

The only problem reported more than once, is a knock from the steering column which has a simple and cheap fix.

Bought my 2013 ct just over a year ago with 92k  on the clock. Im on 108k and no issues whatsoever. check for the steering knock although it is a cheap fix as @bobmc stated.

1 Major point though, check if the car has been put through the 100k service as it is quite a big one which requires the hybrid coolant to be changed. it usually costs £495 from dealership so its a cost you would want to have been done already.

My brother has a 2012 CT200h F Sport with 137k and it drives like it had 50k.. i have a GS300h F Sport with 100k and you would never tell it had more then 30k.

Excellent cars being super reliable holding very good value.

Hello everyone,

I am buying a 100k miles 2014 CT200h f sport. I took a professional engineer who said the car is very excellent and reliable.

any expensive costs for service or repair I should take care of?

You can see examples with 300, 000 on the clock still going strong, ours is a low mileage 2014 that we bought in 2018 and apart from Lexus servicing it hasn't cost us a bean.

Think you have a better chance of Lexus reliability than with most other brands

There's a 900k in the US.

At the end of the day it's all about maintenance, my 1978, 3 litre diesel, Toyota BJ40 has been round the clock a couple of times and never had the head off lol!

That's when they made 'em proper. It will probably outlast a brand new EV.

only what has been mentioned above. Make sure the 100k service which includes the coolant change has been done, as that is an expensive one. The next major service at 120k miles will also be a high cost because the plugs will be due for replacement (every 60k miles).

Hi all

There's nothing to worry about, I've just turned 236k miles and no issues on my 2013 plate. Only had usual stuff.. wear & tear, servicing, brakes & discs and heat shield and the steering column fixed in 7 years

My son is interested in getting a CT next year and I was having a chat about them with a chap I know who works for a Toyota/Lexus dealer. The only issue he mentioned seeing was head gasket failure at around 180k.

@Chef1969that sounds great! What went wrong with the steering column?

Hi I had a knocking when the steering was on full lock and it had a U or J bolt replaced within the column which luckily was done under warranty at the time, I think later models had this issue rectified with a strengthened joint to prevent it occurring.
