Hi NeilJ

I have finally discovered that the source of my A pillar water ingress was a faulty/failed windscreen seal.

A new windscreen fitted seems to have cured that issue but I have now found other wet areas around the passenger footwell and NS rear passenger footwell.

I am optimistically hoping that it was just old water in the vehicle that has moved around as I finally took the vehicle on a trip involving some steep climbs and descents over the mountains on the cars first trip since the new windscreen was fitted.

You can only live in hope.

The car is back into the garage on Tuesday to fault find the Battery drain issue on a newly installed Battery when I purchased the vehicle less than 3 months ago.

Its pretty gob smacking that Lexus's parent company Toyota. Possibly the biggest car manufacturer in the world has so many issues with water ingress.

I have seen water issues recorded for Auris, Aygo, Prius, Rav and our collection of various Lexus models.

Failed and cracked seams, welds, disintegrating gaskets, door membranes etc.

My other car is a Toyota Prius and it has water ingress issues for 7 years now.

Thanks to Olu for the Rav roof rail video.

Morning Lonely Boy

I didn't realise so many models were affected, it is not a good reputation for the brand.  I just wanted to mention that I have trawled youtube on this issue and there are many Vlogs on tracing water leaks on your model but I'm afraid it involves removing many interior trim panels and in some cases bumpers as well .  I hope you can get your car sorted but I get the impression that some owners are getting rid rather than taking their cars apart.  I have looked on Autotrader recently and a couple of adds are on there where they show a photo of the boot area and the jack and tool kit are red rusty so one car to avoid I think.  Such a shame though as they are such nice cars otherwise.

Dare I say my car has been dry now for a number of months and all thanks to someone on the forum that mentioned Captain Tolley's creeping Crack cure.

I had the wind Screen taken out and re bonded in or at least that is what they said they had done and this didn't stop the leak .  I re sealed the Roof Bar for the third time and that didn't fix it so as a desperate final resort I remembered a member of the Forum Mentioned a product I had never heard of Captain Tolley's creeping crack cure so for £15 off amazon I thought ,last resort give it a try .  I used it as they demonstrate on some Youtube videos around the top corner of the screen under the gutter rubber seal and as they say you can see it being sucked into the area .  well I didn't hold much hope that it would be a success but to my amazement after the next downpour the car was bone dry and has remained so for months now and please please I hope it stays that way.  Oh and just to add I did have the A pillar trim off to check the source of the leak was the windscreen top corner which it was see video below for trim removal.

Thanks to all who have contributed to this post
