Driving home last night in Snow Mode made me wonder if it lowers fuel consumption at all, as it limits the revs when putting foot down.

Has anyone done any measured runs to find out if this is the case or not, even when it is not snowing.

MPG will raise dramatically, as moving in snow needs more energy; imagine you running on a flat dry surface or in snow :)

MPG will drop significantly in this cold weather.

I'd thought Snow mode was used just for setting off, to get going, rather than driving along but if it's restricting revs then the engine would be using less fuel?

I thought snow mode just altered the torque output. It dulls the throttle response.

That's my understanding - snow mode is just for getting more traction when setting off to avoid the wheels spinning.

I’ll have to check to be sure but I think snow mode makes the car pull off in 2nd gear not first?

Ops, in my former post I wrote "raise" meaning the opposite , mpg drop, of course :whistling:
