Just a quick question would the spare wheel well of my IS250 f sport take a full sized wheel/tyre ie 225.40.18 if not the 255.40.18 please

It depends what you mean "take"... yes it will fit as circumference of the space saver would be the same as full size wheel, but it would protrude upwards, by as much as it is wider than space saver, so you won't be able to put tray or carpet on top.

Thanks Linas was thinking of getting a full size spare wheel/tyre if only for the front

Scudney :

I bought a set of afertmarket alloys shod with winter tyres when I bought my 2nd hand IS 6 years ago.   By discarding the polystyrene  packing, toolkit etc, there was room for the normal sized wheel/tyre which is what I now keep there for the spare.  It also needed a bigger cover (floor to the central boot area) to the wider area, which I made up from black felt stapled to plywood cut to size with a jigsaw.  Altogether, it looks much like the original boot floor so I was pleased.

CAUTION : My car is a 2008 base model, the tyres are 205.55.16, so thinner than yours.  However there is still about 1 inch between the top of the normal wheel and the underside of the new base to the boot, so should accommodate a 225 width tyre.  I cannot be sure of any other differences between the cars.

Good luck.

In short your front tire will fit under carpet if you remove the boot floor tray, which to be honest is not that bad. I found boot floor tray quite useful for spanners and some odd bits like tire pressure gauge etc. but to be fair it would be possible to live without it. or get yourself something like boot organiser to replace the tray foldable-car-boot-tidy-organise-bag-mult

lol,yes J.Henderson would rather have a proper full sized tyre(if only for the front)rather than an awful looking space 🚀 saver
