LS400 for sale on gumtree.

All my cars I’ve had for the last 10 years or so have had automatic climate control and I just leave the AC on all the time, it’s beneficial in both summer and winter. The last LS400 I had needed the air con regassing and it was absolutely fine after I got it done with no leaks etc, same for a Vauxhall Vectra I once had and a Ford Mondeo. They all regassed just fine and stayed fine afterwards.

People are under the misapprehension that if you don't use the aircon you are not wearing it out!

The reverse is actually true.

I keep my air con on all the time. Doesn't hurt the MPG as the engine is more than powerful to cope with it.

Just out of interest does any one have an opinion on the commonly marketed Sprin gs for Lexii.  We'll call them  "Keep Your Barge" afloat, so I don't fall fool of my own thread as regards libel.  Yet to change rears,  though I have a pair sitting idly bye.

Reference to quality  by Steve being reason for asking?   Anyone had a bad experience with them?

It is NOT libel to express a personal opinion in public or otherwise.

Example...In my opinion the Lexus LS 400 range are utter crap compared to the ford escort range.....thats not libel, I am entitled to express my opinion, if Lexus took me to court it would be thrown out as 'No case to answere'.

Can we start taking about cars again? Threads going off topic is annoying  at best, and becoming more prevalent in the LS section.

Mr Doofa - the car looks/reads ok, but assuming you’re ok with a cosmetically (paint) challenged one, as sounds you’ll have to spend money to get the paint right

Cambelt - isn’t there a year limit too or is it just miles? It hit 68k miles in circa 2005-6 so I’d be looking at changing if it was me.

springs - I wonder if used springs were fitted to pass the mot.

depends on your use case, if you’re happy driving as it is, great, otherwise it *may* be cheaper buying a better example to start with.

Is there a competition to see who can write the most posts?

No but there is a growing shortage of LS400's compared with even 5 years ago, 9 years ago when I got my first LS this LS 400 section of the site was quite busy, I think the ever decreasing number of LS owners & LS cars everywhere is a very big reason why there is a drift factor.
