RX450h 2011 Parcel shelf

Is there more than one version of the rear parcel shelf for the 2011 RX450h?

I have just picked the one up for mine from the previous owner who had it tucked away in his garage as never used it and forgot where it was when he part exed it at the garage I bought it from.

This one has clips that attach to the rear headrests but the seat backs look like they have a sort of attachment point too.

When I asked at the Lexus dealer how much a replacement would be it was around £596 including VAT ... surely not .. or is there a gold plated full leather one they sell for it now?

The parcel shelf you appear to have has the type of fixings that were on my old 2005 RX300 that attached to the headrests. On the 2011 RX450 they attach to the back of seats.

The RX300 automatically released the shelf when the back door was opened and had to be slid back into the closed position manually. The 2011 RX450 requires manual operation in both opening and closing. This probably means that the connections on the door pillars are also different and therefore might not attach correctly but I'm afraid I can't remember exactly what the RX300 looked like.

This is what it should look like. Each beige plastic clip should push into dedicated fixings on the back of each of the two seats.

It appears the previous owner had an RX300 before the RX450h and the one he has found in his garage was that one.

He is going to have a look when he gets back from few days away to see if he can find the proper one .. look like he takes the parcel shelf and rear headrest off them and stores them as he carries things in the back and never uses them .. just wondering what his garage looks like.

In the meantime my RX450 has a parcel shelf from the RX300 fitted .. not too bad a fit.
