Hi everyone

Just curious, according to Lexus paint code my car is Sable yet on the V5 it states the colour as Silver! well to my eye and others its not silver nothing like it. Has anyone else got a different colour registered on the V5. Yes I am a pedantic old curmudgeon :wacko:

Worth checking out the colour code for your vehicle from the body plate and comparing it to the north american colour names. Seems they are all the same colour pallet but differ from market to market by name only, still share the same i.d code though.  Mine is Mesa Red in the uk and Matador red mica in other markets!  V5 states Mesa RED for my car.

My first IS250 was Sable. I'm pretty sure on the V5 the colour was listed as grey, which I didn't think was entirely accurate. Definitely more accurate than silver though!

I consider silver/grey as same colour. The pure grey would be matte, where pure silver would be chrome/mirror like surface. Essentially in my consideration difference between silver and grey is the shine of the surface and not the colour itself.
