Thanks. I would say a pro detailer will do a better job than me but I enjoy getting maybe 90 percent there. It is hard work, I think your price is quite good.

The stuff that goes purple is iron-x by the way.

I'm jealous of your garage! Car looks to have improved massively. Stunning :)

Now you need to wash carefully to avoid spoiling it.

Thanks man. That iron  X  stuff absolutely stinks.

Yeah I'll need to get some of the approved car wash and the detailer is giving me an after wash spray to protect the coating.

I’ve got to drive it on Friday to get some new tyres. Not happy about taking it out of the garage!

I thought your’s was just brilliant silver!!!

Apologies for destroying this thread. I will be sending Blue, Gray, White and T-Bone to the headmaster’s office. Some of us take car detailing very seriously

I enjoy (sad isn't it?) Doing my own. Use a DA polisher with various pads depending on the car. The rc only needed a light paint restore and gentle pad. Then coated with king of gloss which should last about 12 months. But it's only 20 quid a tub. Takes me about 4 to 6 hours to do a full job but between is just normal wash and towel and it looks waxed again. 8a6fdc6e450f76d3f9ce4998397c9372.jpg

Doe you need to use/do anything special because of the seal-healing top coat on these cars?

I wasn't aware of any seal healing properties.

More info appreciated.

All new models after MY2014 have self healing clearcoat to heal light swirls and scratches. Needs heat to be activated I believe.

Technically you shouldn't really polish these paints with abrasives as it removes the self-healing aspects but whether it makes much difference is yet to be seen.

I personally would have stuck Fusso on it - found it lasts much longer than King of Gloss.

I like the life span though. I think something can last too long and then be too hard to remove if required. It's important to get the right products for you.

I have no idea if previous owner polished the self heal away. I have machine polished with R222 so may have affected it myself.

It looks great and I'm happy polishing so maybe it's more of a concern to someone who doesn't enjoy that stuff?

I did not know abut the self heal though and I did months of reading and research before buying.

That's great value for money, I just got my Cayenne Ceramic coated (exterior only) for like GBP 1k

People here rip us off big time.

As promised some pics of the finished job. I can't believe the difference it's like a different car. Happy as with it

Still to get it outside into the daylight to see how it looks.
