After having my GS 300h all of 8 months I've just found that the boot as a soft close function  ( if it doesn't latch fully it closes it's self ) I've not seen any reference to this in the handbook, anybody else noticed this?.

It's a slick feature and it surprises everyone who uses my boot.

I think the design would of been complete if they had added a boot close button - In the current set up in my 430 you have gradually pull down the lid and latch it on - the mechanism then pulls it in - if you let the lid go it slams down under its weight - and no my boot struts are not weak.

I'm surprisesed it's not on the doors to. My 01 s class had soft close on all doors, was good as didn't have to slam doors or if you were too gentle closing, it pulled in for you properly so no having to open them again etc

Hi Steve

I just assumed it was the same as my previous 3 IS's and I would  close it with a firm push, I discovered by accident when my pressure wasn't hard enough and I was amazed to see it close itself.

Great feature.
