This car just keeps getting better.

Really look forward to see this beast in person someday. Brings back memories of @sparkystav and @ormi's IS200 (turbocharged and supercharged respectively).

When it's all done, you should take it to Lexus for an oil change just for laughs  😛

Cheers matey, i cant wait to get to some meets and shows! Is it stav whos now doing a twin turbo 1UZ?

🤣 how funny would that be to take it to the dealer for something!! Tech would know something is different when he keeps stalling it because of the twin disc clutch 🤣 saying that though the gauges and exhaust may give it away!

I managed to get something done today which i had almost forgot about.... AEM trim pot for boost control.

Good bit of kit, very easy install all i had to do was lengthen the wires, put some protective sleve on it. Find a nice place to mount it and pin it to the AEM ecu.

Once it was all in i got my friend from the states to help me set it up. He knows the AEM tuner like the back of his hand! Managed to do a little video call over instagram which works really well and set up team viewer on the laptop.

Once we setup the input from the switch on the trim tab it worked a treat.

I will probably only use 5 or 6 of the settings with a 2 psi increase inbetween each setting. On 0 it will just run wastegate spring pressure.

Well ive hit another big milsetone in the journey today....... MOT is done and passed!

Was a bit of a spur of the moment decision as i was given the day off work today so i took my car in for an mot instead. Have a couple of pics of it on the ramp and a cheeky video of it sounding nasty.

Only done just over 3000 miles in just over 4 years, was gutted as i ended up driving it in the rain but i guess once wont hurt anymore than it already has.

Love it. [emoji7]

To the casual observer it looks like a nice clean, tastefully-modded 1st-gen IS - something to be appreciated on its own, but fellow petrol heads will recognise those RPF1s and wonder what else is hidden under the skin. [emoji106]

Thanks man, yeh im kinda glad i stayed with the oem look now. Im thinking of maybe trying to get hold of the trd side skirts. I do like the look of them.

So good I had to play it twice.👍🤣

Original looks very good, I love it but I wonder if down the line you will need some wider rubber and hence some subtle 'arch-work' to get the power down.

🤣 yeh ive played it a few times myself.

Yeh i will definitely need something wider and stickier. Im rolling the arches soon as they are catching but with the wheels i have im on the best offset available.

I think once ive got through these NS2R's im going to either go with an R888R or the Dunlop Direzza DZ03G in a 265 wide. I think that maybe as wide a tyre as i can get on this wheel setup. From other people ive spoken too on big power the R888R's in that size hook pretty good, this tyre game is going to get expensive!

Small update, ive started cleaning and painting all the calipers and brakes are ordered. These parts have been very slow coming through, still waiting on rear discs and pads. I have all new rear pad fitting kit, from carrier pin and bush kit, stoptech street front and rear pads and brembo cross drilled discs all round.

Was going to go with a big brake kit but as this car is probably going to be too loud for tracks it probably wont see anything apart from santapod. BBK would probably be over kill and talking to a few running big power and doing trackdays they suggest that a good disc and pad combo would be adequate for the road, if not i will run them for a little bit and swap it out for something.

No pics just yet as i will wait for everything to turn up.

Another update is ive swapped the dailey driver Celica Tsport for a Lexus CT200H. Absolutely worlds apart in terms of quality although the Celica has had a hard life with 140k on it.

Well i would load pics but seems to be that problem with an error message again when loading pictures, tried 13 pics and not 1 will load🤨

On to the brakes, wasnt going to post any pics but i did manage to get the 1 side of the fronts togehter last night and now ive figured out how to post again so here they are.

Another great job Rob. We've come to expect it but I do admire your attention to detail. Even the bolts and slider pins look shiny enough to be used 'in theatre.'

😂 cheers mate, yeh i know these can be a problem on these carriers so i thought whilst im here just replace them as they are pretty cheap on eBay. Its so nice putting brakes together with absolutely zero dirt or dust on them.

Rear discs have come but still waiting on the stoptech pads!

So same as the front i gave the calipers a good clean up, primer and some paint.

So other than the rear pads that take seconds to throw in im getting ever closer to that dyno day! Few more minor bits that need sorting and its ready.

So seeing as my wheel arch roller has come i decided to give it a go. Tried my best to not crack the paint but i think its pretty much impossible. I heated the paint/metal with a heatgun and gently kept adjusting and rolling until the lip was rolled and arch slightly pulled. Only a couple of slight cracks on the edge, prettt hard to see so i will probably have a go and get this cleaned up and painted.

Anyway heres a few pics...

Image quality seems to have been completely killed by the forum, i tried 😂.

Also got my Fuel pressure sensor installed too but still need to pin this into the AEM, pretty easy install, just removed a screw plug on the regulator and used an adapter to fit the sensor.

So i have a few small updates i have the reveltronics fuel pressure sensor wired into the AEM ecu, wasnt too hard just had to pic some available input/output/ground.

20210128_135501.thumb.jpg.d0a7b2107107ca8cfc21fc0658c972d3.jpg

Had to extend the loom slightly to reach into the glove box so nothing major, the tricky bit was getting it setup on the AEM. After having a good look around the tabs and just generally having a play i figured out how to assign the pin to the fuel pressure and voltage channels.

I also had another diagnostic tool turn up, its an intake system pressure tester so pretty self explanatory. Very good tool for getting the engine ready for a dyno and ironing out little issues that could potentially stop the tuner doing his job or tuning an engine with an underlying issue.

20210122_123255.thumb.jpg.d087c6918fd03bb9ecf346bbf6bc7fda.jpg

20210122_123303.thumb.jpg.b2f8b004e5384c66f2956e6f1efec5fc.jpg

And low and behold i found 2 issues, 1 was from a silicone hose fitting on the intercooler pipework which just needed clamp cranking down and another leak from the throttle gasket. I took the pressure up to 30psi, i probably wont be running as much as that (yet) so i know its atleast good for what i will need.

For this ive ordered some neoprene rubber and intend to make my own gasket.

More updates to come soon.

Cheers mate, i think the thought of the end result has kept me going. Atleast it should be ready now before the car shows start up again.

Not a clue mate hopefully something happening in the summer but who knows whats in store, itll definitely draw a crowd i especially love the sound but the little details your putting in are equally impressive.

Well the neoprene rubber gasket did the trick. Got it cut out to the size of the existing gasket, got it fitted and tested it again with the leak detector kit.

When we are finally able to meet again and we can produce our vaccination cards, of course, how about offering 15 minute drives for £50? (terms negotiable, but always accompanied!) 😉

Rob, I just want to thank you for this thread. I've spent around 2 hours going through and reading everything. It's an absolute GOLD MINE since I plan on doing pretty much everything you've done except... on YouTube.

This will be one of my main inspirations and guides for when I tackle the same kind of stuff.

Really, really amazing results and someday I hope to see it in person. What an absolute monster of a build, and done so tastefully! Unreal. Great job! 😁

THANK YOU!
