Cd Player Problems

I have a 1996 LS400 with the glove mounted cd changer and I am having terrible trouble getting the CDs to play. The radio and cassette work fine and strangely so do the CDs every now and then (about once every fifty or hundred tries, a CD will play perfectly normally). Most of the time the display shows the track number and then hangs after about 20 seconds it then shows "ERR 23" or "ERR 21". I have cleaned the lens with a lens cleaner and changed the discs randomly but to no avail.

When a CD sometimes plays perfectly normally, it can be any slot or any CD that plays, so I don't think it is related to the media.

Do any of the CD experts out there have any ideas for me ? Thanks to all.

sounds like a Loading mechanism error

if you have to take this to lexus for repair then i suggest getting a quote first.. come back here and let us know as we use the same company as Lexus for repairs... and we can get discount too but you will need to be a gold member to get this though.
