Do you mean the cover inside the boot or the black cover behind the rear head rests that flips up when the roof is operated?

Behind the head rests that lifts. I need to remove the assembly because it's damaged and if I took it to main dealer I think I would need a bank loan

@SLACKBLADDER If it is just minor damage to the parcel tray itself, access appears to be possible by removing the crosshead screws underneath it when it is raised in the vertical position part way through the roof opening sequence. Of course if the roof isn't opening that might make it difficult to access.

If replacement of the parcel tray and the side pieces that rotate in the opening process is required, then that does look quite a complex task and may require an extra pair of hands. I've seen these listed for sale as a complete unit. I've never taken one apart but it looks like it needs to be unbolted on the left and right after disconnecting the electrical connections and the mechanisms that move them. I can't tell for sure as I can't find a graphic that shows all of the relevant parts but I think all of the trim between it and the headrests will need to be removed. If that's the case, there are a few pictures in my thread in the build section that might help.

I basically need to replace a offside side piece the rotates inward as the arm that's attached to the corner cover is snapped off

Was there any further outcome with this replacement, as I have exactly the same issue?

Stop the roof half way through the opening process to get access and it may be possible to get to the fixings.

My lost build thread may have had more pics but there are a few in the shortened version here.

half way down page 3

and this vid shows how it is put together and how the mechanism functions.

If you look in the owners manual on how to manually close the metal roof - from memory - you need to get to "stage 4" of this operation (with the roof open) to gain access to the part that you want to replace.

With the rear cushion out for leather work, this is the ongoing issue of water ingress!
It seems with the roof up during rain, pressure on the sill rubbers isn't made, allowing water into the seat well and the rear quarter panel. The rotating arm is sheared about 30cm from the connection which looks to have fractured. It is difficult to tell what it is made from.

The Amayama site does appear to list these parts (I think)...

Great video. That's a very intricate mechanism.

Pop the rubber grommet out will stop it pooling for now .

Look at resealing the rubber seal below the rear windows ..inside and out .

Also inspect rear 1/4 window seals as it joins the roof seal.
