All good with my 2015 IS, however I've noticed two rust patches on the front OS brake caliper, both patches about the size of a 10p coin. The other three callipers are in pristine condition and not a mark on the matt grey coating. Is this common? The car has just tuned 2 years old and done 21k miles. I know it won't make a difference to how they work but does look odd on one wheel, I would expect them to be evenly discoloured. It doesn't seem easy to shift, any suggestions?

There was a thread on this Forum about a similar issue:  see Front Brake Caliper Corrosion, started by Steve44, February 8, 2015.

Looks like that stands out quite a bit. Especially given the other three are ok. I'd be tempted to ask for replacement or pay for a replacement. Spoils the look. Strange though, it seems to be quite localised. Could you sand them down a bit, apply some rust treatment and paint? Finding a good colour match might be tricky though. Could maybe try to find a scrapped IS300h and buy a caliper. One of those things that your own eye will always be drawn too.

Thanks for the responses, especially the brochure. It seems I should be looking for Premier, not luxury. There is a fully loaded Luxury up in Louth so that threw me off.

Edit: double checked and it’s actually a premier in Louth.

Yes thats normal, its on nearly every Lexus vehicles I've seen bar the newer ones but I dont doubt that they'll get it sooner or later.

The RX 3rd gen suffers from this

Just needs a lick of hammerite but some dealers will replace it under warranty - depends on how they feel at the time you show them.

Thanks all, it's no big deal and I suppose the others will catch up,it does catch your eye when the rest of the car is near perfect.

Painting them is pretty simple if you're into that sort of thing. Id probably go for silver/black though. Not a huge fan of coloured calipers unless they're brembos
