Hello, Im owning a 2017 IS300h Executive model and planning to place Wheel Spacers in 18 Inch rims. Can some one please let me know what would be the perfect size should I place?

Thanks a lot!

ultimately its down to you ,no one can make that decision for you,

as only you will know how far you want the wheel to move outwards.

maybe get another set of wheels with a different offset, then you can

have a winter & summer set of wheels.

I am a great believer in leaving modern high performance cars well alone in terms of wheels and wheel spacers. The car is designed over thousands of miles to run on particular wheel combinations. Putting spacers in surely will cause unnecessary stress on all sorts of components and possibly lead to premature failing of things like wheel bearings and drive shafts.

You also may need to let your insurance know!

Why?

It will depend on what rims you plan to use. You could just purchase ones with a different offset to standard to achieve the look you are after.

Maybe take it down to Halfords and get some bonnet, roof and boot stripes too while you're at it. Some nice blue LEDs too that shine down underneath the car should work too. Nice

Welcome to the Lexus Owners Club RajithJay.

No idea on the spacers and I know some people on here don't know what/where/why you might use them but, as you'll know in the correct car, they look great and will make little difference to the car mechanically.

Many people in the US use them so may be worth ploughing through Club Lexus forums as many will have done it there

it's a very common modification on performance cars - often the wheel being further inside the arch is purely for economy, safety, or other reasons - not necessarily mechanical. Same with wheel offset.

Your best bet might also to be to speak to a good quality performance car wheel specialist and get their advice too.

Post up the results when you know.

Brian.

Spacers do make a difference. They effectively change the wheel offset which changes the point where the tyre is in contact with the road in relation to the up/down and forward/backward movement of the suspension which can have an effect on handling.

They sure did stuff up the wheel bearings on Minis but looked great!!

I am considering this too, as the wheels, for me, are not close enough to look flush with the lines of the car. Yes. They are a SAXO owners wet dream and I completely agree with most of the comments that these cars should be left alone. I also wish to lower the car by 10mm , again, as I think the ride height is a touch too high.

Get your car on a flat piece of ground, level too. Get a piece of string or a plumb bob and hold the string from the inner lip of the wheel arch (To ensure you don't risk rubbing the arch when you bring the wheel out) then measure the distance from the string to the wheel (maybe 10mm.) This is the size spacer you need to get. Check the different types, you may need a hubcentric spacer with it's own threads. Check the thread measurement, I believe they are M.12 x 1.5. Check the extending thread currently on the hub assembly doesn't foul the wheel and stop the spacers from connecting with the wheel correctly.

All going well, fit the wheel and enjoy a slightly wider track that will have a minimal improvement on the handling as you will be 2cm wider now, watch out for curbs and contact your insurance provider. There will be a change. not much, but best to notify them encase something happens, related or unrelated, they will find a way to get out of paying if they can.

I like it! Much meaner stance it has now. Spacers are much cheaper way of doing it instead of buying a new set of wheels with different offset. With spacers you still have a Lexus look due to OEM wheels but wider track. Win win to me.
