To be fair, the photos match the text on this one. 2006 GS300 SE-L Mileage 63254

......"This Beautiful car has come in direct from a Lexus main dealer, Full Lexus Service History, Full Leather Interior, Cruise Control, Full Colour Satellite Navigation, Reversing Camera, Keyless Entry, Keyless Go Complete with 2 Keys All original handbooks, Front and rear park assist, Heated front seats, Automatic air conditioning with dual zone climate control, Radio/CD/MP3, Electric Folding Mirrors, Integrated Bluetooth, Adaptive Xenon Headlamps, Auto Headlamps, Washer Headlamps, Auto WIpers, Sunroof, Steering Wheel Controls, Rear Blind, The car comes with 12 months MOT at point of sale, Viewing by appointment only, All our cars are Hpi Checked with a certificate, and Fully Valeted, Three months warranty included with the option to extend to 6, 12, 24 or 36 months."

This is being punted at £4995 with the big 60k service having been done by a main dealer.

I'm sorely tempted to swallow the MPG of this and grab it.

Good spec, low mileage, FDSH so it's ticking the right boxes.

What's the link?

Have you checked the MOT history?  They can often be revealing...

MOT history clean - only small advisories for tyres, parking brake efficiency and brake pads thin (in 2010, so been sorted).

Wasn't sure about a link, but here goes:

Watch some bugger buy it from under me now!

The link works, thanks. Looks straight enough, the interior looks well too.

As you say, the MOT history looks fine - just worn tyres and weak handbrake reported.

I wonder why it's been reduced by £500, not had many viewings?

It's not too far from you, is surely worth a look.

Considering I wasted a complete weekend and 2 tanks of unleaded going 500 miles to Staines and back to view a Merc C class with a gearbox that wouldn't change up, a 50 mile schlep up the M66 isn't going to be a hardship :-)

Just need to get him to answer the phone now......

Ah, yes it's very annoying when you make the effort and a vehicle isn't as described.

Car hunting can prove to be costly, not just in £'s but also in time as the hours travelling back and forth can soon rack up.

The internet and vids help a great deal tho, I wonder what BMC have available at the moment? - they do good walk around vids/test drives, albeit a bit 'samey'.  Update: no GS, IS or LS unfortunately. http://www.bmcspecialistcars.co.uk/used-cars/search-results?make=LEXUS&model=IS+250&vehicleType=cars

Everything in my price range is sold. Not interested in an RX, but they have a few nice examples.

Must of been for sale a long time looking at the add. While your up there have a look at http://www.mosesgatecarsales.co.uk/used-cars They usually have a few Lexus in stock.

Good shout, I hadn't seen this dealer before and as you say they have quite a few Lexus.

Has anyone used them before?

Ye gods, they've got a 300 in BEIGE!

Or as Lexus call it 'Golden Almond Metallic' :yucky:

also, looking at it he has had it for a number of months going by the outside temp displayed on dash.

Look through all MOT milage and verify it is all genuine. Brakes, check these, run your finger across the disk to see if it lipped at the top of the disks. New disks and pads will set you back a couple of hundred quid so getting something with half decent brakes will last a couple of years. These are heavy motors.

To be honest, big cars do tend to sit about at dealerships, people scared of their running costs. So don't let it put you off. If it doesnt look right in any way then walk away. A well maintained GS will look after you as long as you look after it as well.

Be aware that these are very nice cars, they will give you a nice ride and 1st class ride and all that, but expect to spend a little on fuel, they are not massively excessive but the hybrid is a better option.

LPG install from Profess Autogas is a good option for the future.

Well spotted, that man!

Ran the plate through the app I use for all the family cars (My Vehicle Smart, if anyone is interested)

3 MOT's with advisories, brakes and tyres, mileage stacks up.

Phone the Hull Lexus centre and see if they would be willing to give any history on the car, known customer etc? - Tell them you're not after any personal info just want to make sure the car is straight and eveything matches what you're being told / will be told.

Did that with my GS and so far so good.
