I need to add another like. When playing a CD the screen shows a colour picture of the cover artwork. Very nice...

On likes can I say all of it? Well most of it. I've had my two year old NX for two weeks now and love it.

Likes:

Being able to have all my music on a USB drive and select an album etc by voice.

The 360 camera for getting round the kink in our drive and into the tight garage.

The card key. It's much less bulky in your pocket.

Dislikes:

Having to wait a couple of minutes before being able to browse or select music by voice each time you start the car.

The music not muting for Sat Nav voice guidance.

The connection for downloading routes from My Lexus seems a bit hit and miss.

Oh and it's so slow compared to my old RX400h. Wait that's four, I can't have that.

Hi Ed - good to see a familiar avatar. I've had my Lexus for just over 6 months now and it is truly a fantastic car albeit with the same dislikes as most members on the site.

I have had my car since June now here are my likes and dislikes.

Like's:

  • Adaptive cruise control, makes motorway driving so sweet
  • How quiet the engine is especially on EV mode
  • The automatic hill parking break is amazing
  • Reverse Camera
  • Bluetooth Radio and automatic phone contact sync

Dislikes:

  • Annoying sound upon breaking
  • EV mode turning off due to accelerating too fast

Can't disagree with any of that @Omegajb

One more 'dislike' I've found over the past few days is how poor I find the standard LED headlights. The high beam is great, but on dipped I'm finding them a challenge when compared with my previous Honda with HIDs.

My only other dislike is that it's getting very dirty on the lanes around here...but hey, that gives me an excuse to clean it this weekend.

Didn’t know the sport had LED on dipped. Thought full LED on F-sport and above.

According to the brochure, LED is standard across the range for dipped, with halogen for full beam on S, SE, Sport.

I disagree with comfortable seats. I have the premium model and find the stitched join on the rear third of the drivers seat very hard and uncomfortable as does my wife with the passenger seat. Visibility is poor front and back. Poor position of buttons bottom right and left of steering as cannot he seen when driving or stationary if you need to change anything

However a great car car to drive, quiet and the all round camera view great for parking.

Seat comfort is a very personal thing. I've seen an online review saying that the NX seats are the most comfortable that the reviewer has ever sat in, but that's a pointless comment as different people have different requirements. Personally I find them comfortable at the moment, but being only 200 miles in it is far too early to really comment with any authority. My car is a 300h Sport, so has different stitching to the Luxury.

My Sister - who has some back issues following an accident many years ago - was recommended by her specialist to buy a SAAB as they had 'the best seats.' She bought one - a 9000 which shows how many years ago it was - but couldn't get on with the seats. She ended up with a Renault 25...

Remember that a car's seat will "wear in" over time. I found the bolsters in my RX really stiff at first but they've worn in over time and very comfortable.

Visibility is fine - what are you comparing it to? Obviously a box like a Skoda Yeti is going to have better visibility simply because of the square shape and massive windows. Id only class something like an RR Evoque or Lamborghini Huracan as having poor visibility at the rear.

What do you need to change that has functions at the side of each steering wheel? I find that really odd as most of those buttons are "do it once and forget it" kind of thing

Yes, with the seats I too struggled to start with but find them quite comfortable now. No problem on two recent 3-4-hour round trips.

I do find the forward visibility a little frustrating due to the size of the pillars.

Just returned from a 10 day holiday in the NX. Drove to Donington for a triple car experience and found the seats hard over the 175 miles. My wife found the passenger seat hard as well. Then drove to North Wales and still found the seat uncomfortable. Short drives up to 1 hour in North Wales just bearable but the return journey today, 285 miles was a nightmare. Had to stop 3 times for a break as the seats were so uncomfortable. The issue is the seam at the back of the seat, it just digs in and is hard. If the seat had just two panels then a seam across the middle would be OK but that seam splitting the rear part into two where you actually sit is so hard and just digs into my thigh/hip. I was really glad to get home. It was the most uncomfortable journey I have ever had. Only had the car two months and now done 2000 miles. The thought of another 3 years on PCP is not a pleasant one.

Having said that the drive was good, quiet inside, great ML radio and would have been enjoyable if not for the pain in thighs. Anyone recommend a good cushion until the seat softens?

Mainly done motorway driving and averaging 38/39 mpg. Hoped to get nearer 42. Mpg good around country lanes but really drops once you get onto the faster roads. Only to be expected but great when you drive a short distance in town and see 60+ mpg. Getting to really like the car but need to sort out seat.

It took me a while - like several hundred miles - to get the seat right.

In my case I think it was initially because I was trying to sit too high, to take full advantage of the SUV. Then I found myself tipping too far forward and almost pushing myself back into the seat with my legs.

But I got there eventually!

Sad to hear that you are having comfort issues @Trophy92 but as I said, seat comfort is a very personal thing. Hopefully you'll get a solution.

As I said earlier, generally the reviews of the NX highlight just how comfortable the seats are...4.35. - 4.50 on this video.

This s my first Lexus and I was looking forward to a long journey in it. I had a test drive in a demonstration vehicle owned by one of the staff and it felt comfortable. I hope the seat wears in fast. Will pop into the dealer this week to see what they say. Annoying really as it is fun to drive and 'relaxing' when not aware of the seat.

So why do we have leather seats? I always preferred cloth and i think that is more comfortable, softer and cooler in summer, warmer in winter. But it seems there is no way around it in premium vehicles..

interesting is that the new toyota century, the top of the range car and only available in japan with a v8 and hybrid( was v12!!) is equipped with 100% wool seats! How cool is that!!

I would order this immediately if available, would you?

I think that whenever cars are offered with cloth seats, and leather as an option, the sales are so low thee manufactures prefer to add them as standard in most premium cars. I think it is fair to say that most people prefer leather, but not all. I quite like them, but would not buy them as an option, my wife prefers cloth.

I think the seats are very comfortable, in fact it is one of the best features of the NX. Sorry to hear some people don't get on with them. I suppose we are all different.

I've not long returned from my annual trip to Scotland and covered 1887 miles in 10 days. I had no problems with seat comfort but when I first got the car it took a fair bit of time to get all the adjustments done - height, rake, lumber support and the steering wheel. One of the main things I found was the steering wheel adjustment to suit the seat adjustments.

Personally I'm no fan of leather upholstery, in fact I deliberately chose the SR CR-V last time as it has alcantara rather than leather. Maybe a sign of age, but I miss a nice velour sear cover...:whistling1:...mmmm, comfy.

My NX has the Lexus 'artificial' leather, and I quite like it so far. Nobody who has been in the car has yet questioned whether it is actually leather, much like the Mercedes 'Artico' option.

Velour seats remind me of french reanaults or american osmobiles.

Wow those seats were mire comfortable than a sofa..

i just wish velour was on todays optionlist

I didnt know Lexus did "artificial" leather in the UK. Is this true?

If you see 'Tahara' listed as the upholstery type, then it is artificial 'leather' on the NX. I can't tell the difference, except that it doesn't have the awful perforations so beloved of many manufacturers that make proper maintenance so difficult.

I notice that some Lexus dealers list the NX Sport as having leather upholstery on Autotrader ads. It isn't an option so either they are confused or realise that customers will never know the difference...

Thanks for that and I am aware of Alcantara being a man made suede type material but in the US they have Nulux which is artificial leather and I don't believe that is available here. So all Lexus models that state leather upholstery is referring to the real thing...,.I hope :-)

Leather seats are not popular in Japan because the high humidity levels make them uncomfortable.

Personally, I find the perforated leather less sticky and more comfortable.

I've found a cure for the poor ride quality over short sharp ridges. I replaced the front Yokohamas with Goodyear Efficient Grip SUV tyres. the change is startling. Will change the rears in the new year too. Night and day difference, really pleased
