Did someone bag a bargain?

I don't have my finger on the pulse regarding values of older GS300 but this looks like someone bagged a bargain on eBay

Here's the sales text

Silver Lexus GS300, 1998, in very good condition inside and out.  137,000 miles with only two owners (including current). Well presented bodywork with very clean two tone interior (never been smoked in or pets) and all electrics in working order. Very well looked after vehicle with the following recent work to keep it in excellent, smooth running order: • New radiator • New water pump • New drive belt • New timing belt and plugs • New FULL exhaust system Good history with lots of receipts (including all recent work). Good set of tyres with plenty of tread. Car is MOT'd until April 2018. Really good, reliable car that has been very well cared.

Yep someone did bag a bargain - these usually go for £1-1.5k with this age and mileage. In a clean condition it'll be towards the upper end of that price range.

I thought mine was cheap a couple of years ago, 59K 2000 plate, FLSH, clean as a whistle £2400.

A cracker.

I've had all that work (and a bit more) on my 430 (but not  the rad) prophylactically, so hopefully at a tad under 150K it's good for a few more years.

Probably only worth about a grand, but I wouldn't part with it for five.

If it's as good as it looks and sounds it's almost to the point of ridiculously cheap.  It's from the period where build quality was excellent!  17 years old with two owners is always a good sign as well.

Maybe he bought it for that very purpose but hasn't confessed to it yet!

I think its one of those cars which many people don't really look into, and if they do, end up thinking it'll come with big bills.

I think that's right, people who don't know Lexus seem afraid of them and aren't aware of their amazing reliability and build quality. It's surprising how many don't even know who the manufacturer is.
