Hope you don't mind  if i sit here quietly in the corner and have a read up on exactly what it is iv'e just bought ? from what iv'e read up to now it "think" it seems a good choice compared to some of the other stuff i looked at, Merc ML BMW etc, and cant be any worse than the Range Rover P38 it replaces, can it ? after a test drive today the RX 300R should ready to collect later in the week.

Any reassurance will be much appreciated ;-)

What does the 'R' signify in RX300R? I've got an SE and I know of SE-Ls, but didn't even know an R existed.

No idea sorcerer, i just tried uploading a pic to prove it's there under the RX 300,in "red" which makes it look very sporty and fast and probably expensive to fix ;-)  but i need to read up on posting pics on here

If uploading from computer - just click on "choose files..." at the bottom where it says "Drag files here to attach"

I still miss my RX300, brilliant car. Only down side was it was very thirsty. ~20mpg on average but that wasnt a problem when the company payed for my personal fuel. I have an is300h Premier at the moment but am toying with a change. Maybe an NX, which I having for 24 hours whilst mine is being serviced but after reading Rayaans latest mini review I think I will wait for the RX to drop a bit more as I now have to have the Premier (I like my toys) and cheapest I can find is 46K

I will report back on impressions of the NX vs my is

Looking at the pic again sorcerer you could well be right and it's just a letter "R" a previous owners stuck under the RX 300 lol

Still doesn't detract from it being an impressive bit of kit

Yep that R has been stuck on! Almost looks like the R you find on the Civic Type R!

Should come off easily with a bit of heat and dental floss if you want to remove it.

On a side note - the number plate looks absolutely massive!

Apologies for the appalling pic, But after a busy day rebuilding the 110 Defender,  we finally got to it up late this afternoon, two new front tires and a full MOT and straight to the garage to fill it up, very impressive machine and two very happy new owners and nowhere near as drastic on petrol as i expected, but i did drive it like a girl ;-) Took great delight in emptying everything out of the Range Rover, most of which where tools in case of emergency repairs which are now back in the garage such is my confidence in the reliability I have read so much about on the forum.

I think I'm going to enjoy this beast, VERY MUCH !

Welcome to the RX club. Once bitten, forever smitten...

I had a number of reservations when I bought my RX450h but it's proved to be the best car we've ever owned.

Enjoy

Thanks for the welcome

If i'm honest i had the same reservations, being an electrician for 35yrs, Iv'e become a bit of a luddite as far as vehicles and electrics are concerned and the last time i owned a petrol  car the latest technological advancement in that department was sparkrite bringing out the contactless electronic ignition box ! odd considering i work on big gas engine management systems on generators all day.
