I'd get the tyres dressed too. Nothing worse than a shiny new wheel with old tired looking tyres. Ok job on the first two wheels though. I wouldn't do it myself but kudos to the OP for having a go. Time is money though surely? Also the cost of the tools and consumables. Personal choice I guess.

The same could be said for anything but if you can build up new skills and learn you can continue to use them in the future, materials required to refurbish an alloy wheel are relatively minimal compared to some jobs

Yeah, the tyres are due to be changed in the next few weeks so didn't bother dressing the current ones.

Absolutely agree, I have probably saved about half the cost but it is about five hours a wheel in my time. I enjoy doing myself though. Job satisfaction and all that.

I certainly have learned a lot and the hard way!
