Hi all I'm Gaz 34 from leicester

firstly I should admit, I don't actually own a Lexus. However, since takin a drive in my friends 1997 ls400 I was hooked and iv given myself myself a plan to own a great example within the next 2-3 years.

So, I'm basically here to talk about the cars, learn about the cars, educate myself and narrow my search field down so I know exactly what I'd be buying once I come round to purchasing.

So what I know so far is,

I personally like the mk2 ls400

iv been told the 1iuze engine is the one to look for?

I will probably have the car as a daily so thinking of lpg converted.

i may also need to car to tow a caravan for the family holidays

thats about it for now. I'd love to hear what everyone thinks and advises.

many thanks

Others will correct me if I am wrong, but I believe you can't get a tow bar for a MkIV LS400. The MkIII and MkII cars are very good, but good ones will not come up that often.

You might want to consider the LS 430. They have some well known issues but there will be a greater choice and price range - just a thought.

One thing I loved about my friends ls400 was the engine v8 sound. He had the exhaust adjusted so I think it sounded better than say a stock vehicle.

is the 430 a v8 engine?
