Parking assist puzzle

IS 250 SE - 2007. Ever since I bought the car, the parking assist hasn't worked. I removed the LH boot floor tray to investigate and found a tangle of wire underneath with 3M type connectors and an unconnected component that looks like an alarm/sounder. (haven't yet removed the LH vertical trim panel to get to the ECU.) This all looks like an amateur and unsuccessful attempt at repair. Can anyone point me to a wiring diagram covering the rear parking assist for this model?

Do you mean the TV camera system or ultrasonic obstruction detectors? I didn't think the SE has the TV camera - mine doesn't - maybe it was an option - but that's what 'parking assist' is.

There is a lot on this in the manual so I can't paste it all in. But here is the contents page. Let me know which sections you want and I'll do my best to get them up here.

Just the rear sensors, johnatg.

Confusingly, my Lexus manual describes it all as 'parking assist' whatever level of sensors/camera is fitted).

What I need is a wiring diagram for the rear "clearance warning system". Monacle. Unfortunately, I don't think that's referred on any of these sheets. Maybe elsewhere?...

Actually I think you're correct - it's all called 'Parking assist' and we're talking about the 'Clearance Sonar system'.
