Good morning all

So after buying the wrong car last year and not getting an ISF I have finally decided that I'm going to get one soon, I have seen this car below and I like the look and price, however the car has been serviced as below does this service history look ok ?

I will call the dealers who serviced the car to see if they have any notes or that any issues present.

Also, would anyone be able to advise the services that should have taken place and when, I'm aware there is a big service at 8 years or 80k miles ?

or has anyone been to see the car already as it looks like it's been for sale for some time

I just found a great car on Auto Trader:

Am I reading this right in that it doesn't have full Lexus service history?

Given that and it is an 08 car, I think that is quite expensive.

Why did Fensport service it?

Correct it does not have full Lexus history, I haven't spoken to Fensport although I believe they are a well respected jap tuner / service centre

I would think the car would be out of it 3 year warranty period so a few quid saved by the second owner taking it to fensport.

What I can find on the car is it was for sale by a person up north who had it up for a couple of months, then he moved it on to this garage who have had it up since before xmas I believe.

Would I be correct in saying that I can have a major service carried out by Lexus and as long as there are no issues I can purchase the Lexus warranty ?

Thanks

Not sure about getting a warranty on a car without complete Lexus history.

Thing is that these cars have a small following, so if it were me, I'd wait and get one with full LSH. This may well help when you come to sell it.

Good luck whatever you decide to do :)

I think you can get warranty even if there is missing s/history, subject to prewarranty inspection by Lexus. Seems expensive.

Mine doesn't have a full Lexus history (1 service is non Lexus ), but they had no problems putting a warranty on it as long as it passed its Visual Safety Inspection.  They didn't even ask to see the service book.

The big service is at 60k. Just the normal major at 80k.

Thanks for the replies all, so as a couple of people have mentioned it's priced highly, what should I be aiming for price wise ?

😳.....I got offered 17k for mine n turned it down. They are a fantastic car and providing garage is reputable it wouldn't  put me off 👍

I've done a little digging.

I'd check that the suspension is standard and the same goes for the throttle controller.

I think at one point in its life it was a development testbed for Fensport

This may not be a bad thing, but personally I'd be put off by this if I was in the market to buy an IS-F.

Good work @Flytvr

testbed = wouldn't fill me with confidence.

It could go on forever but why compromise?  In most cases it's a buyers market, personally I think it's worth waiting for an example that ticks all the boxes.

Some credit to Rattie ( @Big Rat). We'd already (wrongly) suspected that the Fensport car was in the hands of another forum member.

Personally I would be staying away from this car unless it was a whole lot cheaper, as others have said there are a few to choose from, Lexus history is a must really. Good luck and happy hunting.

@Flytvr You've done well matey I've lots of photos of this car from a previous attempt to sell and I agree if it has had a bit of a 'motorsport ' past that maybe give it a miss, even though we know they hold up well mechanically and hide the miles well.

As always there is another one around the corner.

@Flytvr Just as an aside here's some pics of the car seen on a driveway in October 2008 in Hereford.
