ordering blank keys

when ordering blank keys does it matter if i get the 40mm blank or do i need to undo my original and measure the full blade ive got 35mm protruding from the original

Just a guess but I'd say it does matter - otherwise why would they make different blade lengths?

I have had both lengths-eBay blanks-cut for my Mk4. No problems.

they will both work if cut properly, the only difference being the longer one will protrude out the the key barrel a bit more

Steve check with key butter before ordering to ensure he will cut a blank you supply - some are very cautious and will not cut a customer supplied blank for fear of damaging their equipment
