Are they 17" wheels? what size did you fit please - profile, width etc. I urgently need a set for my dhp ls 400

I fiited 235/55 x17 to my DHP. This size gives as near as possible an accurate speedo reading - 3 mph over at a genuine 70.

I've fitted 225/55R17 Dunlop SP SportMaxx RT2 97Y on my DHP wheels.

For DHP wheels 245/50R17 would be the best size. I suppose most people go with size 225/55R17.

MK III:

225/60R16      245/50R17            225/55R17             225/50R17           235/55R17

100Km/h             99,94                       99,57                       102,98                    97,99

OE            0.06% too slow      0.43% too slow       2.98% too fast      2.01% too slow

I recommend:

Vredestein Quatrac 5 - 225/55 R17 101Y XL  (B/C/70)...2tires/215€....HP  high performance ...new in 2014      front         rear
All Season tires                                                                                                                                                                     2,6 bar     2,8 bar

My Dhp wheels are fitted with 245 50 17s, pirell asymmetrical. Way too expensive, so based on advice here (thanks peter), I will probably be fitting 235 55 17. I just went to have a tyre repaired but it is not repairable. A couple more look a bit perished, so it's decision time. I'm undecided between Michelin Primacy 3 and Avon ZX7. As I have 5 to buy, the avons currently have the edge

I found the original Pirellis pretty poor both for grip and price, hence I compromised with the 235/55's. Against sat nav the speedo read about 3 mph over, so that's near enough. Original tyres read about 76 from memory.

The Standard size for DHPs is 245/50/17, Pirelli Asymmetrico., around £240  each I just replaced all 5 of mine due to age, with Kumho Ecsta 235/55/17s, which make minimal difference to speedo rates. I managed to get all 5 replaced for £484 all in. They are the correct W rating , are extremely quiet, and the car rides even better. I wanted Avon ZX&s, as I have a soft spot for Avons, but they are designated a SUV tyre
