New RX400h owner

Evening guys,

Well i've done it, I've sold my 2011 GS450h for a 2009 RX400h Limited Edition with 81k miles, full history etc. Only paid £7500 on a private sale, needed more space for the little ones.

Has anyone done any mods that might be of interest? I'm keen to get a new face for where the cassett player is, has anyone done this?

Good choice! I put DRL LED lights in place of the round fog lamps on mine. I'll post a pic tomorrow. Also done reverse sensors, changed the cigarette lighter socket near the radio for a dual USB socket. Added a volt meter near the lower power outlet.

No, it's not plug and play.
The LED Lights are fitted into the fog lamp recess with some ofified fixings behind although they are almost the same diameter.
The bumper needs to be removed and the fogs removed from behind the bumper.
If you want them to just replace the fog lamps and run from the fog switch then just wire directly to the old fog lamp wiring.
BUT, to make them work as proper DRL I used a DRL relay such as this..

Then wire into the vehicle as the relay instructions.
The red and black wire (the end with a fuse) are connected directly to the car Battery + & - .
The red wire goes to positive pole of the LED daytime running lights, the black wire of the output end is to goes to the negative pole of the daytime running lights.
 The yellow wire is to connect to the headlights (or dashboard lights), when headlights or dashboard lights are turned on, the brightness of the LED daytime running lights will be halved.
