Not sure if im posting in the correct section, but here goes!

Last November i finally bit the bullet and done something i'd been thinking about for the past year, i sold my big spec fabia vrs and bought a gs300! I've always wanted to do a vip style build but i couldn't bring myself to part with the fabia.

I picked my car up local, its a 2 owner car with 140k and lexus history up to 110k. The idea was the get a cheaper gs now and build it to how i want then in a years time get a nice clean one then swap all the bits over!

this is how i picked it up, fairly untidy exterior, but interior and engine were top notch

I then started looking at suspension set ups, i decided i was going with the BC racing coilovers and adam ivell from 6two1 sorted me a set out for a fantastic price 15181174_10209014198465585_1244951806531386443_n.thumb.jpg.2fa103a0a40e5a0b1b087bf7d29e7352.jpg

then i bought some wheels, 19x10 et35, 235 35 19 tyres

wheels and coilovers fitted

i then got both bottom ball joints changed, gave it a good serviced and drove it round for a month or so as it was.

i then got a cat back exhaust made, with no silencers or centre resonator.

i then got a after market steering wheel, and a magic drift front lip imported from usa

Tinted fog lights, hella horns and 12x6 plates fitted

I then made a custom vip wine holder for the rear, made some pillows and got junction produce head rest cushions for the front!

With the notches done and adjustable toe links it means i can go lower, and thats exactly what i did.
this weekend it had 4 wheel hunter wheel alignment and dropped the suspension 20mm all around, this is how it currently stands!

Love the fact you've made the car unique to you. That's what it's all about. Like you say it wouldn't be to everyone's taste but you only live once so may as well enjoy it your way :)

Happy motoring!

Steering wheel is the killer. It is very Eastern European style but if you like it just enjoy it.

how does it work on the MOT if half of exhaust system is gone ? How much more insurance company charges you with all those mods ? If I got £30 more just the rear tints you must be paying doub,e at least :)

Nice looking car Louie. In addition to Hangie`s questions, I would like to know how it deals with imperfections in the road and Speed Bumps, given its low suspension ?

Good to see that the car is being cared for.

The wine holder is neat, does it get much use!

I already had the steering wheel from a previous car, I'm now on the look out for a genuine nardi wood wheel as I think it would suit it more! My insurance is £66 a month tpft at the age of 22 with 3 years no claims, all mods are declared

It still has 3 cat's in the exhaust system so it should be fine! I hope 🙄

Royoftherovers, thankyou! the ride isn't awful surprisingly! Don't get me wrong you have to watch out for big pot holes and speed bumps can be risky but on a nice a road or motorway, you wouldn't even know it was lowered.

Farqui, I try my best! I'm going to recover the wine holder in leather at some point!

You're 22?  Well, that explains some of your choices   I probably wouldn't be able to stand up straight if I tried that suspension setup.

Odd choice of car for one so young, but I like your thinking.

You must have smooth roads where you are.  Trying driving something that low in London, and the car won't last long.  I had a lowered Alfa back in the day, and I need a new exhaust manifold at one point after whacking the ground due to a hole in the street.

But, as others have said, it is nice to see the car being cared for.

honestly the ride is still fantastic!

I've always loved large Japanese vip style cars, there just something about them, most people my age want a fiesta st or astra vxr but to me those cars are so generic and boring!

smooth roads? absolutely not! i live in cumbria haha!

gave it a quick go over with some cutting compound this morning, paintwork is still awful but a vast improvement from before!

Thats the plan! keeping the fronts tucked then trimming and rolling the rear arch lips and adding 25mm spacers hopefully this month. its crazy how low the et has to be even on wide wheels to make them sit flush on the back of a 2gs!
