And mine has the luxury pack so the full electric and massaging seats wiring and motors to deal with. I was a bit daunted before I started but honestly not a thing to worry about.

Bear in mind with aftermarket that it is an unusual impedance with the ML system. Choose any alternative wisely.

Yes, there is that. When I replace it or either repair it I might have to turn the bass all the way down and listen to it like that and not give the ML such a hard time😁

The ML speaker can take the volume, the problem is the location is particularly harsh with all that UV attacking the foam. 

The door speakers last a little longer but because of the way these cars are screwed together there is a surprising amount of moisture in the doors. 

Also a little harsh for the speaker foam.

Very much this. After doing a lot of reading I thought I had it cracked with a Kicker Comp 4 ohm DVC wired to give an 8 Ohm load, which people had reported good success with,  but it still overloaded the amp leading to cut-outs. Took it straight back out again before it could do any harm. I think the factory sub is 12 ohms, which is not a standard spec in the component speaker world.
