Thanks chaps.

It does indeed sound very confusing.

The pre 2009 cars were so much simpler, so why did they complicate matters?  Mine was easy, SE-L spec with MM pack was required, that's all. :smile:

Indeed Pre-2009 IS was most generously equipped car from stock...

I believe the change is more adapting to EU market (in contrast with US), here all premium brands BMW, MB, Audi etc. lists all extras individually and charge astronomical money (makes more money on extras than car itself). For that reason you see all used BMW etc... being stock like a rock. Lexus was very generous at start, but realised there are money to make from extras - so here we have it - not as bad as Germans, but still..
