The touch screen on my LS has suddenly decided to take a while to transition from the opening screen to the function screen. When it first happened it took about 5 minutes to operate and I got a message about the cd rom. The time taken to power up varies , but I'm not sure if this is the unit on the way out, or if disconnecting the Battery to reboot would work. Any ideas?

Cheers

Yes definatley - I always recommend doing this if you have unexplained electrical problems - and it costs nothing

One thing I would say is some of the late 400s (mainly 2000 models) need to go through an immobilisor reset procedure - as a precaution just find out where to get the procedure just in case you need it.

hope you get it sorted soon

The problem with the screen taking a while to boot up developed further during our short break to Skye this weekend  (730 miles averaging 30mpg) when I tried to change the clock from winter to summer setting. I cannot access the menu screen as it keeps saying 'please open the door and please check cd rom'. It goes back ok to other functions - climate, radio etc, but maps and menu are now just the main screen display. When I got back home today I took out the cd rom and it looked fine. I even tried an older cd rom I had as a spare, but got the same message. I then re booted the system by disconnecting Battery, but still the same - any ideas folks?

cheers
