My Car Was Smoking Today

Emm... I had my car in the workshop today... the Battery went flat.. I used a booster thing ( bad i know ) started the car left it running a tad..

Turned the car off... started testing a DVD kit using the Cig plug... IGN on, Off, On etc... 3 mins later..

Puff the magic dragon...

I puff of smoke from the left of the glove compartment... Un done the Neg term of Battery as quickly as possible..

Investigated... but no physical damage....

Stereo still working, as Amp is located there........

still dazzled.... Has anyone had a simular experience ?

will take out amp to investigate when I have time but not too sure whether it was that.

hmmm, as you know theres alot of plug junctions down that side of the dash including the amp, and a few relays..........

if you do have a problem with the amp, i do have a 2003 amp sat in the garage

Will defo let you know on that one Mat... I have a Sat Nav though, the amp is different to the non sat nav one.. But stereo is still working fine... I wil have to do a finer check, the looms and plugs down there looked fine too... smelt like it was coming from the amp...

why is bad to use booster to start the car? just wonder cause i got a booster from Woolworth which i can use to jump start the car using the Cig lighter plug, is that bad ideas too?

i just got a set of Plug and go jump start kit from Halfords, its use the Cig socket of 2 cars, is this good or bad ideas guys?
