Radio interference when HRW turned on

Recommended Posts

Hello  ,

I'm a new member to the forum . I just brought my second GS300 , I've no idea why I sold the first one , as they are just such a nice car.

My new car is a 2006 model , and one thing I've noticed is that when I put the heated rear window on , it Interferes  with the FM radio signal .  After having a look on the web , I believe that the first thing to check is the suppressor ? - Can anyone help me , and give me a clue where it's located ?

Thanks

Mike .

The antenna is built into the rear screen. Probably worth checking for any scratches or bad connections and/or earths on the element causing a bad circuit.

As rick said its usually the rear screen with a damaged element

Clean screen then boil kettle  put unpluged kettle on parcel shelf screen will steam up then switch heated screen on and you will see the break

you can get silver conductive paint from motor factors or some conductive tape cut it to width etc to make neat job and job will be done

HTH
